Under the weather

Alley had her first fever. We could tell something was wrong when she just sat there on Rob's lap and didn't squirm like she normally does. But it appears to be just a virus and is getting better already.

As I was up with her last night, I was thinking that she'll be taking care of me someday many years down the road. It's hard to imagine that. I guess we better treat her right.

SIX MONTHS ALREADY!!!

Today Alley is celebrating her six month of life!! Beth and I have been commenting how it seems like she has been a part of our family for ever. She has taught us many things:

1) How to not sleep on weekends.
2) How to wash baby bottles every night
3) To clean poop and vomit out of most any surface (including grandfathers )
4) Most importantly, how everything seems better after a short nap.

Beth and I celebrated the day by having a cup cake this evening. Alley did not seem to have much interest in them. I am sure in 6 months more time we will not be able to hold her back from them.

FAMILY REUNION AND SWIMMING

Alley attended the annual Berg Family Reunion this weekend in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. While there Alley went swimming for the first time. Alley splashed about a little and relaxed with her parents in the water. She generally enjoyed the time with all of her extended family. With the exception of the family picture time, where she decided to cry uncontrollably.

ALLEY PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK

While Alley is unable to move on her own, (making the game very simple for mom and dad) Alley enjoys a good game of Hide and Go Seek. Here she is hiding in the cushons of the couch.

RAINY SUNDAY MORNING

Alley and Dad had hoped to spend the morning outside riding bike. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Instead we spent the morning lounging around the house reading books and protecting Rumsfeld from the thunder. Alley found the bookmark much more interesting then the Tails of Winnie the Pooh. Perhaps Pooh is still to advanced for her. She did like the cow book

ALLEY IN THE GRASS

Alley and Mom and Dad played in the grass tonight. Alley seemed pretty indifferent about the grass – I think she thought it was just like the carpet inside the house.

STILL NOT CRAWLING

It has been a couple of weeks. Alley is still not crawling – though she wants to very badly. She has become very squirmy. She continues to love her feet. Some days she sucks on them as much as her hands. She has taken to mimicking Beth and I when we talk. She opens and closes her mouth without out making any noise - as if she is mouthing words.

Grandpa and Grandma Grommesh were in town today. Grandma Helen took the day and spent it with Alley as Charlie had work to do. Helen and Alley played around the house and went for a walk in the park. They had their picture taken by some nice fellow riding a skate board. Hopefully Grandma will send us the photo and we will post it here.

Alley had a second adventure that evening when she went for a bike ride with mom and dad. Dad is continuing to try and loose weight and needed to burn off a couple of the pieces of pizza that he ate earlier in the night.
