Winter Melt Down

Claire and Alley had a blast at the Spring Melt down today. Alley loves all things blowup that you can jump on. Here she is on the giant blow up slide.

She seems so grown up

Various pictures from Alley 4th birthday party and opening presents with the grandparents. She was excited to get some dinosaurs and a cool dinosaur book from her Uncle Gregg. It is amazing how much she remembers from her class at preschool and from watching Dinosaur Train on PBS. She also got several books on CD that she can listen to at night when she is going to bed. And of course Ponies - that are now called My Little Ponies - not the My Pretty Ponies from my childhood.

Who needs a Super Jump/Bouncy House?

We filled the kids with sugar from the pinata candy and then they had a perfectly good time jumping on Alley's bed at Alley's 4th birthday party.

Alley's Birthday party

Alley invited all the kids from her preschool class over for a little cake, party hats, pinata (she decided to go with My Little Ponies), and playtime. She had 8 kids from her class come. All the girls excitedly dressed up in her princess costumes when they arrived and a lot of chaos and noise followed - but they all seemed to have fun. Only one of the parents stayed - so I am sure that is why the kids got extra crazy - I suppose all the cake and candy helped also.

Is it my birthday yet?

Alley has been looking forward to her 4th birthday for a long time and it is now soon upon her. She asks every day how many days away it is. Grandma Erlys made a Christmas tree advent calendar that we haven't taken down yet - so instead it is a count down to Alley's birthday - getting a piece of candy everyday until the Feb 22nd.

We handed out invitations to her classmates today. She talks about Liza, Lauren, Norah, and Zach a lot - so hopefully these characters will come for a little party here - which she wants to include balloons, cake, a pinata w candy and playtime. Sounds pretty standard. We got a little catalogue of various party ware for kids and Alley spent an evening circling all the things she wants at the party. So likely when we actually go to pick out these things she will have princess balloons, a Lightning McQueen cake, and a Curious George pinata - or some combination of that.

The weekend of her birthday we are going to the dinosaur exhibit at the Children's museum. Alley learned about dinosaurs in class this past month and now wants to watch Dinosaur Train on PBS all the time.

Not time for bed

How do you know if you are going to have a hard time convincing your
girls to go to sleep? When they are running around with swim diapered
on their head after bed time.
