Memorial Day weekend

What a nice weekend! Rob got a lot of work done on our basement with the help of Grandpa Alley and the weekend before Grandpa Charlie. Most of the cabinets are in and Alley enjoyed the "cat walk" her dad created for her. Alley has learned interesting techniques in taking blood pressures. She also is holding a book about puppies - so maybe it's appropriate if she is going to be a vet.

I just can't believe how much personality she has now! Last year on Memorial Day weekend, I remember how we dressed her in a little pink flowered outfit with a bonnet - she was only 3 months old - full of smiles - but her biggest accomplishment was holding her head up. Now she is a silly little girl - who just learned how to say "cracker" this weekend - and is presently in her crib, supposedly sleeping, instead babbling and saying "cracker, cracker".

Mother's day

For Mother's day we first went out to eat with Alex and his parent's. We then worked off our lunch with a bike ride in the hot weather. Alley got to be a little queen and ride in the trailor attached to Dad's bike. Alley seems to like to ask for me - which is a blessing and curse sometimes. She goes around all day asking for "mama". She doesn't say "dad" very often - but likes to say "pup or pupa" for the dog. Rob is getting a little jealous.

We found out last week that Alley is going to have a little sister. Everything on my ultrasound looks great and it looks like another little girl. I never thought I would have so many pink loads of laundry to do!

Uncle Gregg's world

Alley took her first airplane ride to South Carolina to see her Uncle Gregg. She did great on the plane - we got her a seat and put her carseat in it - so she fell asleep nicely.

We stayed at Gregg's new house. The three of us comfortably stayed in his big guest bedroom.
Gregg was a good uncle and let Alley have plenty of time to play. We went to a few parks and an indoor playground. We also went to a Duck Derby, where they released thousands of rubbber duckies in the river to race. We ran into some rain, but there were some sunny days that Alley decided she needed my sunglasses.

We also went to a Greenville Drive game (minor league for the Red Sox). This was Alley's first baseball game. She seemed to clap when others were clapping - but for the most part was oblivious.

Alley getting cozy.

And eventually fell asleep.
She woke up though with a startle at the end of the game when the fireworks went off.
