Balloons

Alley was excited about the balloon animals that she got at a walk we did to support the Park Nicollet Cancer Center. Alley was so excited about the balloons that Rob bought some long balloons and figured out how to make Balloon puppies. Alley was quite impressed and brought the puppy her dad made for her to show-and-tell at daycare.
She is now in the preschool room at daycare and seemed to jump right into it. Some of her best friends aren't in her room though. She liked to hang out with the boys - Mikey and Zach. Since she has moved to this room she has started talking about princesses - so she must have some different influences now.
She is using pull-ups now and fairly consistently goes number 1 in the toilet - but not number 2. So she hasn't graduated to underwear. yet.
She is really learning how to count too. For the first time I have noticed she uses her fingers to count something.

Potty training woes

After Claire's big party we went to Grandpa Alley's lake place for a few days. We were lucky enough to have Megan and Breanna join us. They swam, made sandcastles, and caught a little fish with a bucket and kept it as their pet for a little while.
Alley was doing so well potty training - but we just can't get her to get rid of the diapers completely. She'll be excited to wear underwear and we try to reward her for going potty by a sticker or a penny for her piggy bank - yet she still has had accidents in her underwear and then asks for her diaper back. We are feeling the pressure from daycare to get her trained, as she is moving to preschool. But I think we just still need to give it some time.
